Music legend & all around icon Dolly Parton is having a great week as her new album, Rockstar, has made it to the top of the Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart, which is a really big deal! It’s her first album to reach the top in the Top Album Sales Chart's 32 year history. The album sold 118,500 copies in the US in the week ending Nov. 23, which is also Dolly's biggest sales week for an album ever. It more than doubles her previous biggest sales week from 1993's Slow Dancing With The Moon. The Top Album Sales Chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional physical album sales like CD's, vinyl and cassette tapes.

Rockstar, Dolly's 49th solo studio album, features a mix of original songs and her favorite rock songs over its 30 tracks. A number of guest stars appear on the album including Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney, Sting, Pat Benatar, Elton John and more. The lead single, World On Fire, hit #1 on Billboard Top Rock Digital Song Sales in May. It is her first album since 2022's Run, Rose Run.

Rockstar also debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, which is Parton’s highest charting album ever, and her third top 10 on that chart. Of Rockstar’s first-week sales of 118,500, physical sales comprise a little more than 96,000 (78,000 from CD, 18,000 from vinyl and a few hundred on cassette tape) and download album sales comprise a little over 22,000. This feat extends Dolly's record of #1 albums to 46 years - by far the highest from any Country artist. In fact, Rockstar also debuted at #1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums, Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Billboard Top Country Albums, Billboard Top Current Album Sales and Billboard Independent Albums charts, giving her 6 #1 positions on Billboard this week, another first in her 56 year career.

The Country music legend said, “Wow, this is a big thrill!. I owe a thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. Their support made this achievement possible. I’d also like to thank my producer Kent Wells, all the wonderful artists, musicians, and engineers who brought their talents to this project.”

No news yet on live shows or a tour to promote the album, but I'm crossing my fingers and my toes!
