How Technology Makes Home Owning So Much Easier

Technology like Husqvarna's Auto Mower and Apps like Frontdoor make home owning so much easier for the not so handy!

It's no secret that I'm not the handiest person around my new house. In fact, my dog Blue is probably better equipped at using a hammer than I am. The cool thing is, that with technology today, that's not at a big deal at all. So if you're like me and not so handy and you're tired of spending untold hours of your free time trying to figure out how to do things in your home, there's a wealth of technology and tools that can help you... and make it fun too!

I use technology everywhere in my home. Seriously, even my blinds are automated through Siri. I couldn't live without Husqvarna's Automower or Eufy's RoboVac G30. My entire house from windows, security cameras, lights, locks, vibration sensors, oil diffusers and everything else is controlled via Apple Home. So yeah, I like technology in the home a little bit. Which is great since, as we know, I'm not so handy. And apparently, I'm not alone.

According to a survey commissioned by Frontdoor, an all in one app for home repair and home maintenance, 70% of Gen Z appreciate their home care tied to technology. 84% of people surveyed overall avoid home care all together due to lack of knowledge, frustration and procrastination. 81% of Gen Z stated that it's a lack of time that causes them to put off home care. • “Get smart with your home!” - Smart home technology is all the rage these days, and for good reason! With smart home devices like smart thermostats, smart locks, and smart lights, you can control every aspect of your home with just a few taps on your phone. • “Let the robots do the work!” - With robotic vacuums and mops, you can sit back and relax while the robots do all the cleaning for you. It’s like having your own personal cleaning crew!

• “Make DIY a breeze!” - DIY projects can be fun, but they can also be time-consuming and frustrating. With new tools like cordless drills and laser levels, you can tackle any DIY project with ease. You’ll be a DIY pro in no time!

• “Stay on top of maintenance!” - Regular maintenance is key to keeping your home in good condition. With apps like Frontdoor, you can easily schedule maintenance reminders and get access to expert advice whenever you need it. No more worrying about costly repairs or unexpected breakdowns!

I know for me, technology greatly helps me in my role as a new homeowner. And with an exploding industry in smart homes and a rise in technology and apps such as Frontdoor, home maintenance and management has never been easier.
