Thomas Rhett shared a hilarious photo on Instagram as he and his wife, Lauren Akins, get ready to welcome Baby No. 5.
Rhett donned a pink hat and a headband with teddy bear ears in the photo, plus dramatic pink sunglasses and a few necklaces. He held a light blue wand with a shimmering star on top in his hand. The country star, a father of four young girls, wrote in his caption: “Y’all think this next one is a boy?”
Instagram commenters laughed at the photo. One said Rhett is the “best girl dad ever,” and another said “pink is your color.” Some crossed their fingers that Rhett and Akins would welcome a boy this time, and others said “either way I think it will be perfect.” Some commenters joked that the photo gave “album cover vibes,” and said the singer-songwriter should bring back the look on stage.
Rhett and Akins are parents to Willa Gray (10), Ada James (8), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3). They announced in August that Akins is pregnant with Baby No. 5. Rhett updated the lyrics to his 2017 single, “Life Changes”: “Life Changes”: “Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad/ A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had/ Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way/ That’s five under 10, hey, what can I say?/ Yeah, life changes/ You wake up, ain’t nothin’ the same and life changes.”
