Kelsea Ballerini opened up about “learning to break the pattern of fighting with and learn to fight for,” she shared on Friday (September 20). The singer-songwriter debuted “Two Things,” one of 15 tracks to appear on her highly-anticipated studio album, Patterns.
Ballerini, 31, said she’s “so proud of the heart in this song,” which she’s teased with unreleased snippets on TikTok and Instagram, and hinted at in an email update to fans in recent weeks. She also announced the “Two Things” music video, set to premiere on Friday at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT.
“Two things can be true/ I’ll love and hate you/ I’ll be your best and your worst day/ I’ll be your blessing and curse, babe, yeah/ Sometimes I'll cut and ghost/ But sometimes I'll get too close/ You're nothing and everything I got to lose / Two things can be true/ Two things can be true”
Ballerini’s fifth full-length studio album will follow Subject To Change, which arrived in September 2022, and Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, a surprise EP that followed up February 2023. “Two Things” is the third track to release from Ballerini’s upcoming record, following “Cowboys Cry Too” with Noah Kahan, and “Sorry Mom.” She said during a rooftop performance in June in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee, “I’ve never handled anything with so much care in my life,” while teasing Patterns.
