Here's your excuse to sleep in till noon on Saturday: A recent study found sleeping in on weekends might save your LIFE. Researchers looked at the health records and sleep patterns of 3,400 Americans over two years.

And people who slept an hour longer on weekends had lower rates of heart disease.

They were less at risk for heart attacks and strokes than people who woke up at their normal time. The biggest different was in folks who averaged less than six hours a night during the week, and got at least TWO extra hours on weekends.

The one time it might not be good is if you're already getting enough sleep during the week. In that case, sticking to your normal schedule keeps your internal clock on schedule, and makes for higher-quality sleep.

But for anyone who's sleep-deprived . . . which is a LOT of us . . . sleeping in on weekends might be a good call.
