Tyler Hubbard recently released his solo debut “5 Foot 9” and in it he name checks Tim McGraw, who he says had a “huge impact on my music and my career.” Tim and Tyler have worked together previously, so when he decided to include Tim’s name in the song, he gave him a heads up first.

“I’ve really grown to love him and admire and respect who he is and how he handles himself,” Tyler shares. “And so, yeah, I sent it to him actually a few weeks ago and said, ‘Hey, I just want you to have a heads up. My first single is going to have a shout out to you.’”

He also told Tim, “I want you to hear it first for me, but I highly respect you and what you stand for and who you are and just want you to know I love you. And this is this is coming out soon.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Tyler recently dropped the video for his other solo single “35,” and in it he digs up a time capsule from the past, and he recently took to social media to share with fans what exactly was in it. It included his Bible, family photos, a Blackhawk CD he owned as a kid, a letter he wrote to himself and more.
