Dolly Parton Being Credited For Helping “Cure” Coronavirus

Dolly Parton is being credited by folks on Twitter with helping to find a vaccine for COVID-19.Earlier this year Dolly announced she was donating $1 million to Nashville’s Vanderbilt hospital to help advance the research being done for a vaccine. Well, it turns out Vanderbilt was part of the Moderna trials, and Moderna just announced their experimental vaccine has been shown to have 95% efficacy in human trials.

The connection has prompted fans to take to social media to praise Dolly for being the one who “cured the coronavirus.”

“Dolly Parton donated $1 million to Vanderbilt for vaccine research. Vanderbilt researchers were involved in the Moderna trials,” on fan wrote, “Ergo, Dolly Parton helped cure Covid.”

“Why are we not discussing the fact that the vaccine with the good news this morning was partly funded by Dolly Parton?,” another added, noting, “Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vacciiiiiiiiiiiiiine,” a reference to her hit “Jolene.”

Meanwhile, Dolly was on Today where she was asked about the fact that she’s trending on Twitter because of her donation, and she says she’s “just happy that anything I do can help somebody else,” noting, “when I donated the money to the COVID fund I just wanted to do good an evidently it is.”
