State officials are alerting businesses that the Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act will go into effect January 1st, 2020. The Delaware Department of Finance Division of Revenue announced over the weekend that the act will feature a new tax rate of 1.0429-percent for disposing hazardous materials. The new rate will especially apply to the taxable gross receipts from the sale of petroleum or petroleum products. The Division of Revenue will update its rate in its online system before the first of next month as the tax rate is currently 1.5244-percent through December 31st.
