(Dover, DE) -- A few Delaware lawmakers are addressing bail reform by repealing a recent bill. Senator Colin Bonini and Rep. Steve Smyk announced Tuesday that they are introducing legislation to repeal House Bill 204, calling it ineffective. That bill was designed to release more defendants from jail who are awaiting trial and reduce the use of monetary bail. Supporters of the repeal say new legislation will fix a loophole in Bill 204 which let violent or repeat offenders out. No word on when a possible vote could take place.
