Colonial Educator Named State Teacher Of The Year

(New Castle, DE) -- A preschool teacher in the Colonial School District is Delaware's Teacher of the Year. Rebecca Louise Vitelli was handed the honor last night out of a group of 20 candidates. Vitelli is a special education teacher at the Colwyck Center, where she helps students with autism and other cognitive needs. As the winner, Vitelli will be awarded a five-thousand-dollar grant for classroom use and a three-thousand-dollar personal grant.
