(Wilmington, DE) -- The state hopes to help children who have experienced trauma or extreme stress with a new federal grant. Governor John Carney announced yesterday that Delaware is getting seven-point-five-million dollars from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant specifically comes from the Trauma Recovery Demonstration Project Grant Program. It will be used to create collaborations between families, schools and health providers to prevent children from suffering academic, social and behavioral health challenges linked to stress.
