It's another Try It Tuesday! I love going out in the community and trying new things! This week I stopped by the Bear-Glasgow YMCA to try out their new functional training center! OMG! How awesome is this space?? I hung out with Marty, the Health and Wellness Director, who put me through the circuit for "Bear Fit" which is a small group training class they offer. What a workout this is!
I have been on a health/weightloss journey since January and being a member of the YMCA has certainly helped with my goals. I love living my best life thanks to the YMCA of Delaware. Let me say this too, if I can do these workouts ... YOU can too! I was a little nervous at first, thinking what if I fail, what if I can't do the workouts? Best part is I showed up, that's the biggest first step! Show up and give it your best try! Which is why I am proud to say I tried it! I did it! And excited for more! The Y has a great staff of trainers who can help you accomplish your goals, just like they have done for me. I do need some more training on the monkey bars though ... ONE DAY!
This week is Welcoming Week at all YMCA's across the country! Welcoming Week is a national celebration that brings together immigrants and U.S.-born residents at community-based events to promote cross-cultural understanding and raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone! This year, Welcoming Week will take place September 13-22. Stop in to your local YMCA and help them celebrate!
