Elsmere Man Sentenced For Pipe Bomb Attack On Estranged Wife

(Elsmere, DE) -- An Elsmere man will serve nine years in prison for trying to throw a pipe bomb into his estranged wife's home. U.S. Department of Justice officials say Mark Consiglio was sentenced to 105 months for the incident in March of this year. Consiglio tried to throw the bomb through the home's front window, but it bounced off the glass before detonating in the front yard. Shrapnel from the explosion was found inside the home which two people were inside of at the time. More pipe bombs, bomb-making materials, and a gun were found in Consiglio's home when police searched it. He was known to be violent towards his wife and other community members before he was arrested for the attack.
