The summer of 2019 cannot come to a close until the 7th Summer’s End 5K at Jimmy’s Grille in Dewey Beach is run. As part of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series the 7th Summer’s End 5K will be starting and ending near Jimmy’s Grille located at 1911 Highway One, Dewey Beach, DE 19971 on Sunday, September 1st at 7:30 AM. Races2Run, with the sponsorship of the Highway One Group, offers the 10 Sisters series of runs each summer.
The Summer’s End course is USATF certified with chip timing. Entrants receive a gender-specific shirt and giveaways. Fifty Dollar gift cards go to overall male and female, master’s male and female winners receive a twenty-five dollar card. Awards go to top three in five year age categories 9 and under to 80 and over, top male and female walkers, and fastest beach house team that includes at least one female. The post-race party includes great, down-home food including Jimmy’s famous chicken for all participants and beer for those over age 21. For non-runners who want to join in the fun, food and beverages, passes are $5. Get a zip, long-sleeved tee shirt for $10 additional fee. Parking is free in Dewey on race day until 10:00 AM. Registration is available online for this and other events at raceroster.com until Thursday prior to the run, and will open at 6:30 AM on day of the race. Cost is $25 in advance and $30 on race day. Race begins at 7:30 AM sharp.
