The Philadelphia Phillies filed a lawsuit on Friday against the New York company that created the team’s beloved mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, after the company threatened to make the Phanatic a “free agent” if a contract signed in 1984 was not restructured.

As far as legal documents go, the complaint is one of the more enjoyable reads given that it goes through the history of the Phanatic’s creation.

Police in Germany say a truck carrying crates of beer lost part of its load, spilling about 10,000 bottles onto a road in the southwest of the country.

Mannheim police said Saturday that volunteer firefighters from two nearby towns and a local civil defense team took part in the salvage operation, but an estimated 12,000 euros ($13,330) worth of beer was lost in the crash late Friday.

Through 4.5 innings, the Indians had not done jack shit against the Angels on Saturday. Needing to find something that would get the home crowd excited for some 0-0 baseball, the camera operators in Cleveland panned to Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in the hopes he would do something entertaining, and he certainly delivered.

Donning his new stache, Mayfield dutifully finished the light beer in his hand when he made it onto the big screen. But seeing that that wouldn’t be enough, he took things to another level. The Cleveland quarterback then asked for a new beer, caught one tossed to him off-screen, poked a hole in the can with his teeth and shotgunned the beer to a roaring crowd as he turned around and pointed at the back of his Francisco Lindor jersey.
