What I love about this song is the energy! You can tell Tom and Mitch have an absolute blast performing Love That, and an even better time recording the video for it! This song is catchy upbeat and just a fun listen that brings your day up! Also a solid option to send to a special someone to let them know, whatever they do you do indeed.....LOVE THAT!
Did you ever just hear a song and enjoy every second of it. Count the Ways is one of those songs. Jade does a great job turning a break up into a upbeat bar jam! Every time I listen to this song I've gotta play it twice! The build up on the lead into the hook drops you, then throws you into a chorus that is both easy to sing along with and creative.
"Oh, I've been out three nights straight Drunk six ways from Sunday And I ain't spent one hot minute thinking ‘bout you Met a small town ten with a southern drawl Got seven good reasons I should give her a call It all worked out when you walked out Girl, to tell you the truth (Ooh) I can't count the ways I'm over you"
If you're going through a break up, crush this song's play button 20 times and get back out there!!!
The fact this song is so grossly under played is a crying shame to country music! Hardy is one of the most severely underrated artists right now! This Mississippi sensation got his start as a songwriter with FGL, writing the 2018 summer anthem "Up Down" before going on to co-write "God's Country", "I Don't Know About You", and 2 other FGL hits, "Simple", and "Talk You Out Of It." For those that love the real raw writing style of Luke Combs or country artists of the 90's and early 2000's, you will absolutely fall in love with Hardy. One aspect of his writing tone that I've come to appreciate is how Michael has mastered the art of theater of the mind. Throwback creates an imagine in your mind of your younger days getting into mischief and having a good time.
"We like to throw back some lightning in a jar
Paying cold cash like them good old days
Throw the bucket seats back in that old Skylark
Throw it in park in the dark and in the bars we play a little
Don't rock the jukebox on the jukebox
Then moonwalk and boot stomp and throw back kicks"
In 6 lines, Hardy sent you on a journey into your past by recreating a night out in your 20's at a bar dropping coins into a Jukebox! When you're leaving work today, roll those windows down and blast Throwback and just enjoy that ride home!
Check back next week for 3 more songs to listen to!
