(Newark, DE) -- Police are identifying a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car near Newark. Lanier Brooks was walking eastbound on Christiana Road early Sunday morning when he was hit by a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. Police say it was raining heavily at the time of the incident and Brooks was wearing dark-colored clothing. No charges have been filed against the driver but the investigation is ongoing.
