Idaho governor calls Garth Brooks to request second Boise show

Gov. Brad Little said his office is getting a lot of requests for the country music mega-star to schedule a second Boise show, noting that it would be for "all my friends in low places in Idaho."

When tickets went on sale last Friday, Garth Brooks' July 20 concert in Boisesold out in less than an hour.

Many fans who tried to get tickets complained that despite their best efforts, they were unable to secure seats for the big show at Albertsons Stadium.

A publicist for Brooks said after the quick sellout that they would look at possibly adding an additional concert date in Boise.

On Wednesday, Idaho Gov. Brad Little made his case directly to the country music mega-star.

"I got this new job as governor, and I didn't think I'd get to do anything as fun as this," Little said ina phone callto Brooks. "This is a lot more exciting that what I normally do."

Little said his office is getting a lot of requests for Brooks to schedule a second Boise show, noting that it would be for "all my friends in low places in Idaho," a reference to the performer's hit song.

Brooks didn't make any commitments to a second show, but said it's still a possibility.

"We've been looking at this and I'm not sure what the possibilities are, but if it happens, it'll be because of this phone call," he said. "[Boise's] always been a fun place to play, but this is gonna be something special."

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 7 p.m., and will be Brooks' first show in Boise in more than 20 years.
