(Newark, DE) -- A Newark man is facing charges in connection to a rape near the University of Delaware. The alleged crime happened early Saturday morning when a woman was walking on South Chapel Street in the area of East Delaware Avenue. Police say Roberto Rodriguez posed as a ride-share driver and offered the victim a ride home. When the woman got into the truck, Rodriguez reportedly pulled out a knife and demanded sexual acts. The suspect has been charged with first-degree rape, theft and other offenses.
