(Georgetown, DE) -- Half-a-dozen dogs adopted during the Brandywine Valley SPCA's annual Mega Adoption earlier this month were infected with parvovirus. WBOC-TV reports of the more than one-thousand pets that found homes during the event, at least six have tested positive for parvo. Officials say they are contacting other families whose new pets might be at risk of the highly contagious disease. Brandywine Valley SPCA has also arranged for free veterinary care, and will refund the owners' adoption fee.
