(Kent County, DE) -- For the first time in more than 75 years, rabies is to blame for a human death in Delaware. State health officials report a Kent County woman died last week after becoming ill in late July. Test results recently confirmed the presence of rabies, although the source of the disease has not been identified. A young boy from Newport who was bitten by a stray dog in 1941 was the last person to die from rabies in the state.
