(Dover, DE) -- Drones are the latest tool Delaware's Department of Transportation is using to enhance public safety. The agency has 12 drones and eight certified pilots. DelDOT officials yesterday detailed how they've been using the drones over the past two years since the program was started. Officials say they've been used to check on road conditions and car accidents. They were also used during last year's riot at the Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna and during the Firefly festival earlier this year to help capture several thieves.
