(Georgetown, DE) -- Chicken poop could soon provide electricity to some 35-hundred people in Sussex County. The Sussex County Council voted unanimously this week to approve land use for a facility that turns chicken poop into renewable energy. The Maryland-based company CleanBay Renewables is set to build its 60-thousand-dollar facility on a site off Route 113 near Georgetown. It will convert 90-thousand tons of chicken litter each year into electricity for the Delmarva Electric Cooperative power grid.
