Delaware All-Sate Theatre Presents: Evita

Delaware All-State Theatre (DAST), a not-for-profit theatrical organization, will present EVITA the last two weekends in June. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, EVITA is winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical. Evita is set in Argentina between 1934-1952. It is based on the historical story of María Eva Duarte, a poor Argentinian girl who grows up to be the wife of the president of Argentina, worshipped by her people. Well-known numbers from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece include “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Oh What a Circus,” “Buenos Aires” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall.” 

This production of EVITA has adult themes and contains some colorful language. It is appropriate for adults, seniors, and mature children 11 and older. Performances will be in The Laird Performing Arts Center at the Tatnall School on June 23rd, 28th, 29th, and 30th at 7:30pm and June 24th, 27th, and July 1st at 2pm with a special performance at the Freeman Stage in Sussex County.
