It's always fun to take a look back at history and remember some big moments. Especially when it comes to country music because so many of the big names years ago are still big names today in 2022.
Bobby Bones shared a Throwback Thursday because May 12th is such a big day for several country music artists like Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Travis Tritt, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, and Garth Brooks. The look back on today's day in country music showed several hit songs when they first went number 1, some big award moments, as well as a record for a box set.

Today in 1957, Elvis Presley's "All Shook Up" tops the Billboard country chart.
Today in 1984, Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias hit the top of Billboard's country chart with "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" two days before the single goes gold.
Today in 1990, Travis Tritt scored his first number-one hit as "Help Me Hold On" tops Billboard's country chart.
Today in 1991, George Strait’s “If I Know Me” peaked at #1 on the Billboard Country chart.
Today in 1993, Brooks & Dunn claimed three honors during the 28th annual ACM Awards in Los Angeles. They won album of the year for “Brand New Man.” They also won Top Vocal Duet, Single Record of the Year, for “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.”
Today in 1998, Garth Brooks' six-disc box set, The Limited Series, debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 chart, having sold more than 372,000 copies in its first week. That box set contained songs like Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)
