Man From PA Is Biking Coast To Coast To Raise Money For Homeless

Bill Swartz is riding across the country on his bicycle for a cause near and dear to his heart. He’s pedaling from the Jersey Shore to Los Angeles to raise money for Bell Socialization, which runs the homeless shelter in York, Pennsylvania, his hometown.

His trek from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific has only just started and the 51-year-old expects it will take him three and a half months, but he’s not in a hurry. Swartz was a caseworker at Bell Family Shelter back in his 20s, so he’s seen firsthand the important work they do in the community and wants to raise awareness and funds to keep it going.

“At this time, you know with what’s going on with COVID, it’s more important than ever because so many people are hurting,” Swartz explains. “People young and old, of all different backgrounds, have been so curious and helpful and so supportive of this journey.”

To help with his cause, donate to his GoFundMe campaign.
