Creamery Offers Free Milk In “Kindness Cooler”

Sassy Cow Creamery is taking care of its community during the coronavirus crisis. The Columbus, Wisconsin creamery is keeping a fridge outside their store fully stocked with milk and other dairy products anyone can take for free.

They’re calling it the “Kindness Cooler” and they plan to keep it loaded up until the end of the pandemic. It’s a big hit with locals, they’re giving away over 400 gallons of milk a day.

Dairy farmers across the country are having to dump thousands of gallons of milk a day because demand is down and regulations make it illegal for them to sell or donate raw milk before it’s pasteurized. But Sassy Cow Creamery pasteurizes its milk on-site, so that doesn’t apply to them.
