Wilmington Supermarket To Lay Off 90 Employees

(Wilmington, DE) -- Wilmington residents fear their only central supermarket might be closing following planned layoffs. Fresh Grocer at Adams Four announced last month that they would be laying off 80 employees. On Tuesday, City Councilman Vash Turner said he heard that the store is set to close sometime soon. Concerns are mounting as the store is the only grocer within the city's central neighborhoods, as well as being only one of three markets in the city with a butcher and full-size produce section. Parent company Wakefern Food Corp. has not made any comment confirming or denying the rumored news.
