Delaware Senate Approves New Age Requirement For Tobacco Products

(Dover, DE) -- The Delaware Senate is approving a bill that would raise the age to purchase tobacco products. The measure was approved in a 14-6 vote on Tuesday. The age requirement would be changed from 18 to 21. The bill would apply to all tobacco products and substitutes including e-cigarettes and vaping devices. Retailers caught selling tobacco products to anyone under 18 would face a fine of up to one-thousand dollars. The bill is now headed to the House.
