Lauren Alaina, Brett Young, and Midland are ACM New Artist Winners

The ACMs turned up the hype for next month's show by announcing the winners of the three New Artist categories.  They had REBA MCENTIRE surprise each one with a phone call . . . and there's video.

LAUREN ALAINA is the New Female Vocalist of the Year, and she spent most of the call speechless and crying.  She did manage to say a few things, like "Oh my gosh, I can't believe it.  I can't talk.  I have to call my mom and dad."

BRETT YOUNG is the New Male Vocalist of the Year.  He seemed composed, until it hit him . . . and then he said, "Stop it.  Are you serious?  Reba, thank you so much for the call."

When MIDLAND heard they won New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, they were sure someone was pranking them.  When they finally came around, they were humbled.  Quote, "Reba, we have no words.  Usually, we're a bunch of smart mouth gentlemen but we have nothing to say.  This is unbelievable."

This is the first ACM win for each of them.  All three will be performing at the show, which is going down April 15th on CBS.
