“Time” magazine is out with their 2021 Time100 Next list, recognizing 100 emerging leaders shaping the future of entertainment, health, politics, business and more, and Luke Combs is on the list representing country music.
Garth Brooks pens a tribute to Luke in the magazine, noting that “in this age of self-promotion, Luke Combs is letting everybody else do the talking for him,” adding, “He realizes that being a star is not up to him: the people will confirm it.”
Garth adds, “If I could pull him over and tell him one thing, it would be to just keep doing what he’s doing. Just follow that music,” adding, “What resonates with him will resonate with the audience, with me, with everybody who’s listening.”
Luke performed at the Daytona 500 this weekend, and apparently bad weather kept him stuck in Florida, so to pass the time he decided to share some new music with his fans. The singer took to social media to perform the unreleased track “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” which he wrote with Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder.
