Sadie the German shepherd was adopted by her owner, Brian, a few months ago, which saved her and she’s already returned the favor by saving him. The six-year-old dog is being called a hero for her actions when he had a medical emergency at their New Jersey home.
Brian collapsed after suffering a stroke and Sadie wouldn’t leave his side. The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge reports that she also dragged him across the room to his phone so he could call for help and she continued to lick his face to help keep him awake.
The animal rescue says Brian felt a special bond with Sadie, even though she was known to be especially nervous with men. “Brian gave Sadie a second chance at life, adopting Sadie and welcoming her home,” Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge says. “This time, Sadie gave Brian a second chance at life.”
