(Wilmington, DE) -- Senator Joe Biden is returning to Wilmington Thursday to attend the funeral of Democratic Party activist Sonia Sloan. Sloan, who passed away Saturday at age 91, was highly involved in Delaware politics, fundraising and volunteering for many Democrats, including Biden. Sloan and her family were close with the Bidens as the two talked on the phone regularly. Sloan leaves behind her husband, Gil, and their two sons, five granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
