Weird News: Monday July 22nd

A baby alligator was found far from the tropics in the parking lot of a grocery store outside Pittsburgh on Friday morning, the fourth alligator discovered near the city since May.

An employee found the 2-foot-long creature near a garbage can at the Giant Eagle grocery store in Shaler, about 10 miles north of Pittsburgh.

"It looks like a little baby alligator," Shaler Township Police Lt. Dave Banko told the Tribune Review newspaper. "Someone dropped it off or lost it."

A Minnesota toddler has been found after he took a joyride on his battery-powered John Deere tractor to the county fair.

The 2.5-year old wanted to go back to the county fair, and drove from his home to the fair without telling his parents, Chicago County Sheriff Sgt. Jason Foster told KARE 11.

One New Jersey commuter was caught in a flood and had to be rescued by an apparent total stranger.

The man had just gotten off a train from New York City Wednesday evening and was headed to his car in the parking lot as the raging storm waters came flooding down the steps of the Short Hills Station. The man stood watching on the steps, contemplating if he should walk through the water.

Video of the incident shows a woman appear with an umbrella. The man grabs the umbrella and jumps on the woman's back for a quick ride above the rapids — so he wouldn't get wet
