Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester is donating a month's salary to organizations helping Delawareans affected by the government shutdown. Rochester donated a total of eight-thousand dollars to several organizations including the Food Bank of Delaware and Catholic Charities. She is among the more than 100 members of Congress who said they turned down or donated their paychecks. Delaware Online is reporting the shutdown is estimated to affect 500 workers in the state and a total of 800-thousand in the U.S.
