Dover Police Shift Stray Animal Duties To State

(Dover, DE)  --  Dover Police will no longer be handling stray animal complaints.  The law enforcement agency cites cost as the reason they are turning over that type of work to the state.  The Delaware Office of Animal Welfare will begin handling stray dog or dog in custody complaints starting tomorrow.  Dover Police will still be in charge of cases involving animal cruelty, animal nuisance, and barking dog or wildlife complaints.
