Bethany Beach, DE) -- A nonprofit organization is working to reduce plastic pollution in Delaware. Plastic Free Delaware is asking restaurants and it's customers to be more aware this month. The organization reports thousands of straws wash up on Delaware's beaches each year. A new bill is being discussed that would require all restaurants to only give straws if they're requested. The co-founder of Plastic Free Delaware hopes the legislation will prevent thousands of plastic items from entering local waterways.
