Code Purple has been activated for tonight-Friday morning in Dover.

Code Purple in Kent County is defined as whenever the night-time temperature is expected to fall below 25 degrees.  A Code Purple Winter Sanctuary is not a traditional shelter, it’s an emergency shelter to aid the homeless in the cold winter times.

The shelters will  be open at 5pm when a meal will be served, the shelters will close at 8am depending on weather and each shelters ability to provide for daytime care.
