Excessive Heat Warning in Delaware

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for most of Delaware over the weekend that is scheduled to end tonight at 8 p.m., but officials now say it could be longer. Residents, along with visitors, are now being advised on the dangers that accompany the severe temperatures and are being asked to monitor local weather forecasts for the latest information. Health officials also advise the public to stay in air-conditioned spaces, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, wear light clothing, and drink plenty of water.

DHSS Reduces Hours For Walgreens COVID-19 Testing Due To Heat

Delaware Health and Social services are pushing back hours at Walgreens locations due to the heat wave warning. DHSS announced yesterday via Twitter that the COVID-19 testing drive-through hours will be reduced Monday to 9 a.m. to noon at three Walgreens locations because of the heat. Officials say there is one location in Bridgeville on Commercial Centre Drive, a second location in Dover on S. State Street and a final location in Middletown on Ridge Avenue.
