DE Test Scores Largely Unchanged

(Dover, DE)  --  Delaware standardized test scores aren't seeing much improvement.  The state Department of Education released the scores from this past school year yesterday.  Roughly 54 percent of students in grades three through eight who took the Smarter Balanced Assessment demonstrated proficiency in English Language Arts, the same as the year before.  The same group showed 44 percent proficiency in math, a one-percent decrease from the year before.  Proficiency scores for high school students taking the SAT fell this year with the biggest drop on the essay portion, going from 53 percent in 2017 to 40 percent this year.
